Make Ahead Instructions

This dish takes only 15 minutes to make, so it’s quick and easy. If you want to save some time, chop the onions and garlic the day before, and steam and chop the spinach as well.

Store them in the fridge (onion and garlic separate from spinach). This way, you will have all your ingredients prepped ahead of time!

You can also make the dip, let it cool down, and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. When ready to serve, reheat in the microwave or a skillet.

How to Store

Store creamed spinach in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or a skillet.

How to Freeze

You can freeze this dish in an airtight container for up to 3 months, but keep in mind the texture might not be the same once it thaws. When reheating it, do it over low heat. This may help to prevent the cream sauce from separating.

Frequently Asked Questions about Cheesy Creamed Spinach

Cheesy Creamed Spinach

1. What Can I Use Instead Of White Wine?

If you don’t want to use wine you can use the same amount of vegetable or chicken broth. The flavor will be different, but delicious nonetheless.

2. Can I Use Fresh Spinach Instead Of Frozen?

You can, but this recipe is made to be quick and easy, and if you use fresh spinach you have to blanch it first and then squeeze it dry. Microwavable spinach saves you time and effort. But if you don’t have a microwave, by all means, use fresh spinach.

3. Can I Make It Less Spicy?

Absolutely! If you are feeding children or don’t like spice, just omit the red pepper flakes.
