Equipment

  • Knife and cutting board
  • Large skillet
  • Stove

Ingredients

  • 2 large skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut in half horizontally to make 4 thin chicken steaks
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp mustard powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • cup honey

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and mustard powder. Dredge the chicken in flour on both sides, shaking off the excess.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil and butter. Once the butter has melted, brown the chicken breasts for 3 minutes on each side.
  • Add the garlic into the center of the skillet and saute for 30 seconds. Pour in the vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Simmer for about 1 minute or until the sauce has thickened slightly, turning the chicken breasts to coat. Serve immediately.
