Large skillet
Toaster oven or oven
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- ½ cup yellow onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp parsley flakes
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp mustard powder
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- Freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 6 slices provolone cheese
- 6 brioche hamburger buns
Brown the ground beef with the onions and bell peppers in a large skillet over medium-high heat until no pink is left in the meat. Add the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, parsley flakes, mustard powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for one more minute
Dissolve the cornstarch in the beef broth and pour it into the skillet. Cook until thickened and most of the liquid has evaporated.
